Read time · 1:10 minPPF4Ukraine took an important step towards mobilising Swiss private-sector expertise for Ukraine's recovery during a two-day outreach mission to Switzerland on 14–15 January 2026.
Led by Mario Ortner, Team Leader of the PPF4Ukraine Consortium, the mission introduced the facility to key Swiss industry organisations, including Suisse.ing, Swissrail, Swissmem, economiesuisse, and Switzerland Global Enterprise. Discussions focused on the facility's objectives, financing model, and pipeline of municipal infrastructure projects, while identifying practical opportunities for Swiss companies to contribute to project preparation and implementation.
Particular attention was given to sectors where Swiss innovation and expertise can deliver high impact, including mobility, engineering, energy efficiency, and sustainable infrastructure. The meetings generated strong interest in strengthening Swiss participation in Ukraine's reconstruction and paved the way for follow-up initiatives such as thematic webinars, joint outreach activities, and the development of an AI-powered matchmaking platform linking Ukrainian project needs with Swiss technology and service providers.
The mission concluded with the inaugural PPF4Ukraine webinar, Paving the Way for Swiss Private Sector Engagement in Ukraine's Reconstruction. Ambassador Jacques Gerber, Federal Council Delegate for Ukraine, reaffirmed Switzerland's commitment to supporting Ukraine's recovery, while Mario Ortner presented PPF4Ukraine's role in connecting Swiss expertise with reconstruction projects. Deputy Minister Maryna Denysiuk outlined Ukraine's priority recovery needs and highlighted the importance of Swiss innovation and know-how in rebuilding the country.
The outreach mission successfully positioned PPF4Ukraine within Switzerland's private-sector ecosystem, establishing a strong foundation for long-term collaboration and creating new pathways for Swiss companies to contribute to Ukraine's municipal recovery and reconstruction.
